What was once an abandoned air force base in the High Desert region of the Inland Empire is today a thriving corporate and industrial campus. In 1999 Stirling was appointed as the Master Developer of the former George Air Force Base, and proceeded to initiate the development of a fully-integrated 8,500-acre multimodal freight transportation hub supported by air and ground connections including a 2,500-acre commercial and industrial complex entitled for 60 million square feet of development. Via Stirling Development’s public-private partnership with the City of Victorville, the redevelopment now known as Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA) was created and is the largest fully-integrated commercial development in the region.
Today, SCLA is home to such high-profile brands as Arden ™ Companies, Boeing, Dr Pepper Snapple, Exel Logistics, Fastenal, FedEx, General Electric, Leading Edge, Mars Wrigley Confectionary, Newell Brands, ComAv, Plastipak Packaging, Pratt & Whitney, Red Bull, Sparkletts, Solar City Corporation and United Furniture Industries.
Through long-term planning and visionary thinking, Stirling has worked proactively to create an entirely new economic center for the High Desert which is anticipated to create more than 24,000 jobs and provide a sustainable economic base for continued growth in the region.
